SERENITY VILLAGE

 Bope, Padukka is a short 50 min drive from the borders of Colombo. Travelling through lush greenery, you climb up through low grown tea estates to reach the property. Turn left from Bope Junction on to the Ihala Bope - Labugama Road and travel 4- 5 km. The property is on 5 levels with one of its two swimming pools on one level below the main reception with its own changing rooms and 4 open huts - ideal for day trips, to enjoy a private dip and a drink. The view of mountains is beautiful from all levels above the reception. A level above the reception is the main pool, which is quite large. Dining terrace is above that. Each level requires a bit of climbing so not recommended for senior citizens if you have trouble climbing steps. The food is average but well prepared. Room rates are reasonable. They have a 5 pax room and a 4 pax room as well as several triples and doubles. My only peeve was the lack of wifi and phone signal reception, which is very poor. Nice place for a weekend getaway.

Mandaram Nuwara   Mandaram Nuwara is a beautiful little village situated in the foot hills of Piduruthalagala on the Walapane side. In fact from Mandaram Nuwara you can climb over Piduruthalagala Mountains and reach Nuwara Eliya. To reach Mandaram Nuwara, you have to go to Kandy and get in to Walapane bus. Royal Botanic Gardens ,  Peradeniya  are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of  Kandy  in the Central Province of  Sri Lanka . It attracts 2 million visitors annually. [1]  It is near the  Mahaweli River  (the longest in Sri Lanka). [2]  It is renowned for its collection of  orchids . The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. [1] Attached to it is the  National Herbarium of Sri Lanka . The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km 2 ), at 460 meters above sea level, and with a 200-day annual rainfall. It is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture.
